Memorial Cleaning Social Value
Supporting Local Community with a Memorial Cleaning Project
As part of our commitment to creating positive social value within the communities we work in, Maplebeck Tree Care recently supported a local conservation project by helping to clean and restore a valued community memorial.
The memorial stands prominently in the courtyard/churchyard of St Peter’s Church along Langrick Road and serves as the main local monument honouring the service and sacrifice of residents from the surrounding fenland communities of Wildmore and Thornton le Fen during the World Wars.
Recognising the importance of preserving this historic landmark, our team volunteered their time and equipment to help improve its appearance and ensure it continues to be respected as a place of remembrance for future generations.
Using a MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform), we were able to safely access the top sections of the memorial. The cleaning was carried out carefully and sensitively, using only wooden brushes and water to gently remove accumulated mud and dirt without causing damage to the stonework.
We are proud to have played a small part in caring for this important piece of local heritage and supporting the community that surrounds us. At Maplebeck Tree Care, we believe that our work goes beyond tree care — it is also about contributing positively to the places where we live and work.
